A line of severe thunderstorms stretching nearly across the states of Texas and Louisiana will pass over the Deep East Texas area this evening. The National Weather Service has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for Angelina, San Augustine, and Nacogdoches Counties, as well as towns in the surrounding areas.

Winds are expected to hit 40 to 50 miles per hour, which combined with the heavy rains will make travel hazardous. Please be aware of flash flooding this afternoon and evening, and keep an eye out for downed tree limbs, power lines, or other debris.

The storm is moving to the southeast, at a speed of 25 miles per hour, and should pass through our area fairly quickly, though rains will be heavy at times.
