Lufkin Police Make Arrest in Bomb Threat at Thrift Store
According to a post on the Lufkin Police & Fire Facebook Page, an arrest has been made in the bomb threat that occurred this afternoon at the Family Crisis Center of East Texas Thrift Store located near the Walmart Supercenter.
Charles Ouchley has been taken into custody. Ouchley, who is homeless and frequents the area, walked in around 4 p.m., claiming to have a bomb in his backpack. The store was evacuated, leaving only Ouchley inside. Several minutes later, he walked out of the front door and was detained by officers.
Ouchley left his backpack inside the store. A team member from Beaumont PD Bomb Squad will X-ray the contents of a backpack belonging to Charles Ouchley.
We'll have more updates as they become available. For now, police are asking persons to avoid the area if at all possible to keep traffic congestion to a minimum.
