East Texas Sheriff’s Office Employee Arrested in Polk County

At the request of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Rangers arrested a Polk County Sheriff’s Office employee – following an investigation that began in February of this year – on a charge of theft by a public servant.
Jessica Renee David-Yancy, 38, was placed in the Polk County Jail on a second-degree felony. She was booked into the jail Friday, March 10 at 9:18 am. Her bond was set at $7500.
Investigators believe David misappropriated inmate funds for approximately three years for personal use. No specifics on those alleged misappropriations nor dollar amounts were reported in the press release.

In a separate incident, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the assistance of the public in obtaining information in regards to a Burglary that occurred on FM 2665, east of Goodrich, between Saturday, March 4, and Monday, March 6.
According to a post on the Polk County Sheriff's Office's Facebook Page, a 2013 black Kawasaki Brute Force 300 ATV, a 2019 silver Kawasaki Brute Force 750 ATV, Echo Bear Cat generator that is black and orange in color with a paw print on the side were stolen.
