Watch the Send Off for the Pineywoods Academy Basketball Team

The boys varsity basketball team at Pineywoods Community Academy in Lufkin are 23-2A district champions with a perfect 10-0 record.  On Tuesday, the team was scheduled to leave the school just after 1 p.m. to head out for their first round playoff game. 

Teachers at the school, spearheaded by Lindsay Wright, thought that there needed to be a proper send off for the team as they boarded the bus to Jasper.  So, the student body, cheer and drill teams, along with a few other participants decided to take part in a short parade outside the school.

Once the bus was in place, I had the honor to introduce the players as they boarded the bus.

By the way, the Timberwolves of PCA defeated Sabine Pass in Jasper 100-92.
