Danny Merrell Chronicles His Daughter’s Cancun Wedding – Day Two
Just a quick recap, my oldest daughter, Chandler will be getting married this Thursday as part of a destination wedding at a resort in Cancun. I've decided to chronicle the daily happenings in words and pictures leading up to the big day, as well as the wedding itself.
Day Two of My Daughter's Destination Wedding in Cancun
Three days and counting until my daughter's wedding on Thursday. Several more friends and family and soon-to-be family members arrived at the resort. A few more are expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
Monday was an extremely busy day for me and my family. We decided to spend most of the day at Isla Mujeres, a small island located just north of Cancun. Oh, but before we get to that excursion, we had a chance to see the location of the chapel where Chandler and Adam will be getting married on our resort. The backdrop is absolutely gorgeous.
More pictures of the chapel and much more are in the gallery below.
Highlights from the trip to Isla Mujeres
The Ferry
It takes about 15 minutes to complete the ferry trip. Helpful Hint: try to get your tickets before getting to the on-site ferry retailer. They live by the spontaneous supply and demand model, the price can fluctuate upwards within seconds depending on how crowded it is.
Renting a golf cart
We rented two golf carts for two hours to completely make the circle around the island. This is also something we should have probably booked ahead. It's crazy busy with vendors around the ferry area of Isla Mujeres, and finding the best deal on a golf cart is probably best done without so much commotion.
Lunch in Isla Mujeres
We stopped at Los Mariscos de Humo for lunch. It is rated by Trip Advisor as the #2 restaurant on Isla Mujeres, and it was fantastic! We enjoyed flautas, shrimp relleno, and chicken tacos. Take a look at the pictures below.
My daughter's wedding is coming up on Thursday. The adventure continues and I'll bring you another update on Wednesday.
