There have only been 22 of these in the history of Major League Baseball -- the pitching of a perfect game.

No walks, no errors, no hits...nobody reaches base and San Francisco's Matt Cain accomplished the feat last night against the Astros in a 10-0 victory.

A number of things came together last night for the perfect game to happen.  Of course, most importantly, Cain had excellent 'stuff', but there were some defensive gems that happened in the field, most notably a diving catch in the 7th by outfielder Gregor Blanco.

Plus, it certainly helped that the Giants built an early big lead which has aided by a two run blast (his 2nd in as many games) by former Hudson Hornet Brandon Belt.   In fact, Belt had 3 RBI's on the night and recorded the final put out for the historic win.
