It would seem to many that Miranda Lambert takes in a new stray dog every week. And perhaps she does. But it’s all because the ‘Over You’ hitmaker has a warm heart for her furry friends and wants to do anything she can to help them. This time, Lambert has adopted six stray puppies, and she turned to her fans to find homes for the sweet litter.

All six of the dogs were dumped at a doggie daycare facility in Oklahoma. Five of the pups are a family of seven-week-old German short-haired pointers, while the sixth addition — which Lambert named Conway — is a nine-month-old black Labrador mix. Never one to leave a pup stranded, Lambert snatched up all six of the tiny, licking faces and asked her fans to give them good homes through the MuttNation Foundation. As of Tuesday afternoon, Lambert was delighted to share that all of the pups had found new families.

If Lambert and her fellow superstar husband Blake Shelton had room for six more ‘kids,’ they would probably just bring all of the puppies home. However, Mr. and Mrs. Shelton practically have a working farm full of animals at their Oklahoma home. In the past few months alone, the country couple have welcomed new dogs Emmy Lou, Loretta and Batman into their abode — that’s not counting the canines, horses, cats and others already in residence!

Lambert’s latest act of kindness comes on the heels of the fifth ever Cause for the Paws, a fundraiser she orchestrates each year to benefit her own MuttNation Foundation. This year marked the award-winning singer’s fifth annual fundraiser for the organization. The event included live performances by Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott Band and, of course, Lambert herself, in addition to a live auction of one-of-a-kind country music swag.

The 2012 event brought in more than $207,000, bringing the MuttNation Foundation’s total fundraising efforts up to $236,797 this year.

It sounds like Lambert won’t rest until every dime of that money goes toward building more shelters for stray dogs and teaching other pet owners how to give their animals a loving home.
