Groveton, Northwestern State Football Star Dies in Plane Crash

There is heartbreaking news out of Louisiana on this Thursday evening.  Wade Williams, who was an all-state football star at Groveton High School, and eventually an All Southland Conference player at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, passed away today in a plane crash near Monroe.

According to news reports, 3 people perished in the crash.  Businessman Chris Mudd and the pilot, Robert Gilliam, were the only other persons aboard the plane.

I did not know Wade, but I was fortunate enough to meet him at a KICKS Road Show at a Lufkin car dealership.  In just that short conversation, it was easy to see that Wade Williams loved life, loved his friends and family, and loved Jesus.
